If you are experiencing difficulty with an SWE Adobe Connect session (webinar), remember note the following:
If you experience any kind of connection issues during a session – the slides aren’t moving or you can’t hear (for instance), the best thing to do is to log off, close your internet connection, shut down your device, and restart/log back in. Just like turning your TV or your laptop off and back on quickly, this will solve 99% of the problems. Other suggestions for connectivity issues (such as slides freezing up or not advancing) include switching to a different browser (such as Firefox or Chrome), and asking the other people in your household or office to disconnect from the internet (leaving more fire power for you).
If you click on the link to access a webinar and it takes you to a previous webinar: this is easy to fix: shut down your device (turn it completely off), wait for about 30 seconds, and turn your device back on. It should be fixed!
Your audio/sound will be best if you log on to the webinar platform through the Adobe Connect app, with headphones attached to your device and a hardwired connection. If everyone else can hear but you can’t, check the following: the speaker icon on the webinar platform, the sound level of your speakers, and the volume control of your headset. Most people have the best sound quality when using the Adobe Connect App (as opposed to a web browser).
Are you at work? Keep in mind that your company firewall may be blocking your access to an Adobe Connect platform or recording.
Remember that you can log into the live webinars with a mobile device. You may need to download an Adobe Connect app before you do so, but it should be free and fast to download.
If your device does not play the sound on a webinar or webinar recording: first, try a different browser. Also, please note that latest version of Safari (released in January of 2022) version does not automatically play Adobe Connect recording and meeting audio. Click here for instructions on how to configure your device to solve this issue.
Please remember to test your advice in advance if you have not yet used it to attend an event via Adobe Connect. Webinar links are posted several days in advance to allow for this important step.

Hello, I did not have audio on the Exploring new AVA’s in the USA on Nov. 6. I used my iPhone 12 and the adobe connect ap. I could see the slides just fine. I noticed on the trouble shooting page that safari doesn’t allow audio automatically. Your instructions to fix this are for laptops. How do you fix this on iPhones? I went into safari settings and I scrolled down to microphone and options are ask, deny, allow for all websites. Currently it is set on ask but No message ever came up when I logged on about the audio or microphone. Do I need to set it on allow for the audio to work? Also should I have my phone plugged in while on a webinar? Thanks
Hi Denise! Apple products change their specs quite often, so it will depend on the version of the iPhone and browser that you are using. Your best bet would be to contact Apple Support sometime before the next webinar and ask them how to configure your phone so that it can connect to Adobe Connect sound. As for your other question, it would depend on your specific device and circumstances; however, I do not typically have my iPhone (or iPad) plugged in while attending or presenting webinars.
